Privacy policy
Your training is yours.
Last updated 5 October 2026
The short version
- Your routines and workouts are stored on your phone. There's no account.
- During the beta, Coach runs on our server. It reads your recent workouts to plan your next set and keeps nothing.
- If you join the founding-member beta, we keep a little to count your training days and to send you your free year.
- No ads, no tracking cookies, nothing sold. Ever.
What stays on your phone
Everything you log — routines, workouts, sets, notes, body weight, settings — is saved in your browser's storage on your device. We never receive a copy. You can export a backup from Settings at any time; deleting the app or clearing your browser's data deletes it from your phone.
Coach, during the beta
We want Stanza Lift to be 100% local. But while the app runs in the browser, its code can be read by anyone, so for the beta Coach — the part that plans your next set — runs on our server instead.
When Coach plans, the app sends it what it needs and nothing more: the weight, reps, time and effort rating of your sets, which exercises they were, your plan for today and a few settings (units, rest time, language). Workouts from the last 30 weeks are sent in full; older ones only as a date. Exercise names you made yourself, workout names and notes are never sent.
The server works out the plan, answers, and forgets. Nothing from these requests is saved; we only count how many arrive each day, a number that says nothing about you. When the app launches in the stores, Coach moves onto your phone and these requests stop.
The founding-member beta
The beta is optional. While you use the app, it keeps a tester code on your phone and tells our server when you finish a real workout, so we can count training days fairly. We store:
- your tester code and a hashed key that proves the code is yours;
- how many real workouts you've done, the dates you trained (not what you lifted) and the dates you opened the app;
- the code of the friend who invited you, if any;
- your app language;
- a salted hash of your network address, to stop one person signing up many times. Your IP address itself isn't stored.
If you answer the survey, we also keep your answers and the email you give us. The email is used only to send your launch code and founder year — no newsletters, never shared.
We use this to run the beta and keep it fair (our legitimate interest, and the free year we've promised you), and to learn what to build.
Analytics
The app and this website use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It sets no cookies, doesn't track you across sites and only gives us totals, such as how many people opened a page, which country they were in and which site sent them.
Who handles it
The app, this website, Coach and the beta database run on Cloudflare, which processes data on our behalf and may keep standard technical logs for a short time. The app loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when it does. Both may process data outside the EU, under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
Coach requests: not kept. Beta records: until the beta ends and everyone's launch code has been sent; then they're deleted. Survey answers may be kept longer only as anonymous totals.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete what we hold about you, or object to how we use it. Write to us with your tester code (Settings → Beta) or the email you gave, and we'll answer within a month. You can also complain to your data protection authority — in Portugal, the CNPD.
Stanza Lift isn't meant for children under 16.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes too, and anything important is announced in the app.
