These terms

These terms are the agreement between you and Stanza Lift for using the Stanza Lift app for iPhone and this website. By using them, you accept these terms. If you got the app from the App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement applies too; where the two differ, these terms add to it.

Training safely

Stanza Lift helps you log your training, and Coach suggests what to lift next from your history, recovery and the effort you rate. Its suggestions are a starting point, worked out by a program that can't see you, your form or how you feel today. They aren't medical, physiotherapy or professional coaching advice.

You decide what you lift. Warm up, use good form and a spotter when it matters, and stop if something hurts. If you have an injury, a health condition, are pregnant or are new to training, check with a doctor before you start. You train at your own risk.

Stanza Pro

Most of Stanza Lift is free. Stanza Pro adds Coach and everything it does, as an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, bought through Apple.

• The price is shown in the app before you buy, in your currency and including tax. It may differ between countries.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
• The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the same price, unless you turn renewal off at least 24 hours before the period ends. The renewal is charged in the 24 hours before.
• You can see, change or cancel your subscription any time in your iPhone's Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or from Stanza Lift's Settings → Stanza Pro → Manage subscription. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for.
• Payments and refunds are handled by Apple, under its terms. To ask for a refund, use reportaproblem.apple.com.
• If the price ever goes up, Apple tells you first, and asks you to agree where the law requires it. You can cancel before it applies.

Free trial and codes

The yearly plan may start with a free trial, shown in the app before you subscribe, once per Apple Account. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and the first year is charged. If you buy another plan during the trial, what's left of it ends.

Codes for Stanza Pro, from us or the App Store, are personal, can be used once, have no cash value and can't be sold. Each says what it gives and until when.

The founding-member beta

The beta runs on Apple's TestFlight, is free and optional. Founding members who meet the beta's conditions (training on enough days and answering the survey, as the app shows) get the free time of Stanza Pro it promises, through a code we send them. One per person: if someone uses many codes or accounts to get more, we may withhold or cancel what they got that way.

Beta versions can have bugs, and features can change before launch.

Your data

What you log is saved on your device, so it's yours to keep safe. If you turn on AI assistants, the copy on our server is there for them to read, not as a backup, and is deleted when you turn them off. Export a backup now and then (Settings → Data). We can't recover what's lost with a phone or a deleted app. What you log stays yours; you give us no rights over it.

Using Stanza Lift fairly

Use Stanza Lift for your own training. Please don't misuse it: no attacking, overloading or reverse-engineering our servers, no automated requests, no getting around Pro or the beta's rules, and nothing unlawful. If someone does, we may stop them from using the parts that run on our servers.

What's ours

The app, its design, Coach, the name Stanza Lift and its marks, and the exercise library are ours or used with permission. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for yourself. Sharing the cards you make of your workouts is encouraged.

Changes to the app

We keep improving Stanza Lift, so features change. We won't take away what you're paying for without notice: if we ever stop offering Stanza Pro, or remove something important from it, we'll tell you in advance, and you can cancel, with any refund the law gives you.

Liability

We work hard for Stanza Lift to be accurate and always available, but we can't promise it'll be free of errors or interruptions. As far as the law allows, we're not responsible for injuries from training, for data lost on your device, or for losses we couldn't reasonably foresee.

None of this limits liability that can't be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, nor your rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content and services.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. If you're a consumer living elsewhere in the EU, you also keep the protection of your own country's mandatory consumer laws, and you can bring a claim in your own courts. If something's wrong, please write to us first: most things are sorted out quickly.

Changes and contact

If these terms change, the date at the top changes too, and anything important is announced in the app before it applies.
